On the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine awarded to Professors Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman

Professors Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman have been awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their significant contributions to the development of mRNA vaccines. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to them.

At the UTOPIA center, world-class researchers are working together to develop vaccines and other countermeasures against infectious diseases, and are building a network of collaborations not only in Japan but also with overseas institutions to advance their research.

Professor Drew Weissman is one of these researchers and has been providing guidance and advice as a research collaborator of the Overseas Collaborative Research Group.

We would like to congratulate Professors Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman on their honor, and continue to promote vaccine development research at our institute so that we can help "Save the World from Infectious Diseases".
