To better prepare for future pandemics, the University of Tokyo Pandemic Preparedness, Infection, and Advanced Research Center (UTOPIA) is launching a new program to support the development of next-generation diagnostic tools for infectious diseases.
Alongside vaccine development, the need for effective and accessible diagnostics has become increasingly critical. This program seeks to identify and support original, innovative research on diagnostic agents, technologies, and instruments—broadly defined as “diagnostic tools.”
Selected research proposals will move forward with advisory support from Director Yoshihiro Kawaoka.
